KARACHI: There is no threat to the Pakistani coast due to earthquake of 7.9 magnitude which hit near east coast of Honshu, Japan, on Friday morning.
"Based on historical data, earthquakes of this magnitude have potential to generate regional tsunami. However, it is not known that a tsunami has been generated as yet," said a statement issued by the local office of seismology section of the Meteorological Department.
