CAIRO: The Arab League's annual summit, which was to be held this month in Baghdad, has been delayed until the end of May due to regional unrest, an Arab diplomat told AFP.
"It has been decided that the summit has been postponed until the end of May due to the situation in the region," said the diplomat who attended a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo.
The postponement comes as anti-government protests rage in several countries of the region, and amid heavy fighting in Libya between loyalists of embattled leader Moamer Kadhafi and opposition forces.
