LONDON: Daily average primary aluminium output excluding China rose to 70,300 tonnes in June, from 70,000 tonnes in May, data from the International Aluminium Institute (IAI) showed on Thursday.

In China, the world's largest aluminium producer, the daily average output rose to a record 97,700 tonnes in June against 91,100 tonnes in the May.

China plans to force the closure of some aluminium output during the winter as part of efforts to reduce emissions, pushing prices on the London Metal's Exchange higher .

Global production for June, excluding China, was 2.108 million tonnes, down from 2.17 million in May.

Chinese production in June rose to 2.931 million tonnes, its highest since January, from 2.825 million tonnes in May, the IAI said.
