JAMSHORO: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has claimed that over two million devotees have participated in the Urs celebrations of Hazrat Usman Marvandi Lal Shahbaz Qalandar which is 25 percent high as compared to previous year.

The Sindh government has taken effective measures to facilitate the devotees and the next year, the numbers of devotees would be further increased, he said this while talking to media persons at the concluding ceremony of the 765th Urs celebrations of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sehwan Town on Wednesday.

The chief minister accompanied by Sindh ministers Imdad Hussain Pitafi, Mukesh Chawla, Syed Ghulam shah Jilani and members national and provincial assemblies laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha at the mazar of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

Syed Murad Ali Shah said the objective of his recent visit to China along with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and other chief ministers was to gain maximum benefits from the CPEC Project.

He informed that he achieved fruitful results during meetings with the Chinese Ministers of Planning and Transport. The project of Karachi Circular Railway also came under discussion, he said and added that efforts were being made to start this mega project during the current year.

Responding to a question about the protest of the leaders of Pak Zarzameen Party and registration of cases, he said all have right to stage protest demonstration but action become necessary when the PSP leadership had tried to violate the law. The PSP leadership had obtained NOC for its protest so there was no need to lodge any new case against them, he said.

Responding to a question about the conflict of his government with the federal government, the chief minister said the provincial government was representing the people of Sindh and it had reservations over the shortage of electricity and gas in the province. The provincial government had taken up these issues with the federal government with demand to ensure provision of electricity and gas accordingly, he added.

Replying to a question about the killing of nine workers in Gwadar, the chief minister termed it a cowardly act and said the provincial government would make all out efforts to compensate the heirs of these deceased workers. President PPP Sindh Nisar Ahmed Khuhru would announce the compensation during his meeting with the heirs of deceased workers, he informed.
