abid-sher-ali-1024ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali on Tuesday said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government had launched hydel, gas and coal projects to meet energy shortage in the country.

Talking to PTV, he said huge investment was being made in various projects due to peaceful environment in the country.

He said coal reservoirs were available in the country specially in Thar region. He said power plants would be installed in these areas to meet energy demand.

To a question, he said previous governments did not pay attention towards electricity due to which people were facing the problem.

The State Minister said the present government had taken initiatives and launched several power projects to add electricity into national grid system.

He said 525 mega watt electricity would be added in the system by 2018.

To another question, he said zero loadshedding would be observed during 'Sehar' and 'Iftar' timings of Ramazan ul Mubarak.

Abid Sher Ali said electricity was being supplied to industrial sector without any interruption.
