Two soldiers of the Pakistan Army were killed on Tuesday during an ongoing operation against the terrorists in Sawabi district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
The armed forces were conducting an intelligence-based operation against terrorists in Sawabi district's Malikabad area.
"During exchange of fire Capt Junaid and Sepoy Amjad embraced Shahdat," read the ISPR statement.
The exchange of "fire continues" and the compound has been cordoned off, the statement added.
Earlier on Monday, five Pakistan Army soldiers were killed in cross fire as militants from Afghanistan attacked three border posts in Mohmand Agency.
'Operation Raddul Fasaad' was launched by the Pakistan Army last month, amid a fresh wave of terror attacks in the country, which claimed more than a hundred lives and left hundreds others injured.
As per Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asif Ghafoor the Operation Radd ul Fasaad was launched to consolidate the gains made in the earlier operations and to undertake campaign of deweaponisation and put an end to the facilitators of terrorists as per the spirit of the National Action Plan (NAP).
