imagePakistans star all-rounder Shahid Afridi has enjoyed one of the longest and eventful careers in international cricket, having seen everything from the highs of becoming World T20 champions back in 2009 to lows of being discarded by the current cricket management.

One of cricketing worlds most entertaining players Afridi revealed one of the biggest regrets of his prolific career of not winning against India in the semi finals of the ICCs Cricket World Cup 2011.

We came very close to winning that World Cup. Not winning it as a captain is regretful. I think it was Pakistans best ever performance in a world cup in a very long time, he said, reported GEO TV.

Afridi who at present, has gone domestic after representing HBL in the tournament final against Sui Southern Gas Company in Karachi, was of the view that along with the PCB every international cricketer should try to bring back international cricket in Pakistan.

It is the responsibility of every international Pakistani cricketer, including mine, to try to bring back international cricket to Pakistan, he said.

I think international teams should visit Pakistan. People here love cricket and have been deprived of it for too long.

Previously, it was learnt that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been in touch with the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to play two Twenty20 Internationals in March this year, once Pakistan could guarantee adequate security.
