imageLAHORE: CIA Police Lahore claimed to have arrested 202 proclaimed offenders (POs) and dacoits involved in bank robberies, terrorism, dacoities and other heinous crimes.

The police recovered looted cash worth Rs 15 million in dacoity and burglary incidents, committed in Lahore, Gujranwala and Sheikhpura districts.

This was disclosed by SSP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk while addressing a press conference at the Investigation Headquarters on Friday.

He said the POs were involved in killing and injuring of 15 citizens during the crime incidents. The arrested accused had already been sent to jails in Okara, Sahiwal, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Vehari. Their accomplices, identified as Allah Ditta and Muhammad Aslam were killed for offering resistance.

The accused were wanted by the Lahore and other districts' police.

SSP CIA directed all divisional in-charges to depute officials in plainclothes at shopping centres, markets and other business centres to provide protection to the citizens.
