ISLAMABD: Minister of State for National Health Services, Saira Afzal Tarar on Tuesday informed the Senate that Inter-Provincial Vigilance Coordination mechanism has been established to promote coordination among federal and provincial regulatory authorities for eradication of spurious and substandard drugs.
During question hour, she said that three unlicensed manufacturers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and two in Lahore were raided and huge quantity of fake or unregistered medicines were recovered.
The House was informed that Korean assistance has been sought for Malakand Tunnel Construction project. The project is aimed at providing all-weather transportation link between Malakand, Chitral district and the rest of the country.
The Senate was also informed that the constriction of an overhead bridge at railway crossing at Tarnol (Islamabad) is under consideration of the National Highway Authority.
