ISLAMABAD: Eleven Pakistani University students, chosen by their respective universities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, will visit Japan under JENESYS 2.0 Programme.
The university students from member countries of SAARC have been invited by Japanese government to participate in this short term invitation programme. The delegation of students will visit Japan from February 9 to 18.
Twelve university students from Karachi and Quetta are also visiting Japan under the same programme.
Hiroshi Inomata, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan handed over travel documents to the selected students from Pakistan at an orientation ceremony held here Friday.
Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) is an exchange programme to reaffirm and strengthen bond between Japan and SAARC countries.
Under this programme, the participants will be given opportunities to deepen their understanding on Japan's cutting-edge high technologies and its support for local and creative industries, experience Japan's traditional culture, and communicate with local people.
This programme is expected to develop mutual understanding among youths in Japan and SAARC countries.
