power20lines 400ISLAMABAD: Chairman WAPDA Syed Raghib Abbas Shah said that government is making efforts to complete some ongoing energy projects in the current financial year.

 

Talking to a private news channel, he said that Allai Khawar project of 121MW would start functioning next month while the Satpara, Gomal Zam and Jabban hydro project would be completed in March.

 

He said that 40 percent work on 969MW Neelum-Jhelum hydropower project has been completed and would start generating electricity in 2016.

 

Shah said that US Ambassador Richard Olson assured that $ 150 million would be provided for rehabilitation of Mangla Dam. USAID would help Pakistan in Diamar-Bhasha Dam project, he added.

 

He said that Diamar-Bhasha Dam is still government top priority project.

 

He said that Pakistan is working to generate 19000 MW electricity in next 5 to 10 years.
