imageISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday urged ambassador-designate to the United States Sherry Rehman to concentrate on further enhancing Pakistan-US bilateral relations with focus on strengthening democracy and trade ties.

In a meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President congratulated Sherry Rehman for her new assignment.

Sherry Rehman thanked the President for the trust and confidence reposed in her and assured that she would accomplish her responsibilities as ambassador of Pakistan in a spirited manner and with full devotion.

The ambassador-designate said she would earnestly work to augment Pakistan's bilateral relations with the US and would endeavour to defend interests of Pakistan at all international forum, especially in Washington.
