hurricane-gregMIAMI: Tropical Storm Greg swirled rapidly into a hurricane late Wednesday in the Pacific off Mexico's southwest coast and was expected to strengthen further, but posed no immediate risk to land, US forecasters said.

The seventh named storm of the season in the eastern Pacific was packing sustained winds of 75 miles per hour but was forecast to track westward away from Mexico's coast, the Miami-based National Hurricane Centre reported.
