imageISLAMABAD: Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said the long march of Imran Khan was against the development works being accomplished by the government of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PLM-N) and the reign of prosperity in the country.

In an interview to a private TV channel on Wednesday, he said the purpose of the long march was to push the country into darkness and halt the development projects.

Shahbaz Sharif said due to the policies of the government, the confidence of foreign investors had been restored.

There was no corruption case during the recent tenure of the government till now rather prosperity was prevailing in the country, he mentioned.

"Availability of a quality transport through Metro Bus service in just Rs 20 only is a revolution," he remarked.

The CM said it was up to the nation to decide whether they want to play part in the development of the country or in destroying it.

He further said, in a recent survey of PILDAT 63% Pakistanis had opined that 2013 elections were fair while only 37% said that they were unfair.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif fulfilled Imran Khan's latest demand and requested the supreme court for forming a judicial commission, Shahbaz Sharif added.

"Now what justification has left with Imran Khan for the long march," he questioned.

The Chief Minister further said Imran Khan had taken a lot of U-turns, like rejecting the offer of the Prime Minister.

"The demand of a technocrats government by Imran Khan has made clear his intentions," he said, adding, it was due to the same reason that Javed Hashmi had gone to Multan.

He said Imran Khan was ready to negotiate with Taliban but not with the government.

Responding to a question, he said it was responsibility of the government to protect the lives and properties of the masses.

Shahbaz Sharif said the government would take all administrative measures as there was information that some elements could target the march.

The Chief Minister expressed grief over the Model Town incident and said if his role was proved in the incident, he would resign.

Replying to another question, he denied that he had made any promise to send Pervez Musharaf abroad.

"The matter of Pervez Musharaf is subjudice and it is for the court to decide his fate," he underlined.

He urged Imran Khan to end his conspiracy of toppling the government through a technocrat set up else the nation would not forgive him.
