KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has directed the officials of the Education Department to take action against the occupiers of government schools.
He was talking to media persons after attending the 22nd Convocation of the NED University of Engineering and Technology, here on Wednesday.
He said that elected representatives have also been asked to identify such schools in their constituencies which are occupied, so that action could be taken.
The minister further said that private schools will be encouraged to make Sindhi a compulsory subject in their syllabus.
Earlier, speaking at the Awards distribution ceremony, he said that NED University's graduates are playing an important role in the socio-economic development of the country.
As many as 1413 students were awarded bachelors and masters degrees, while gold medals were conferred on 19 students over their prominent performance.
NED Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M. Afzal Haq also spoke.
Prof. Dr. Abdul Wahab from Muhammad Ali Jinnah University, elites of the city, and parents of the students in large numbers attended the ceremony.
