ISLAMABAD: The electricity shortfall in the country on Thursday remained 5,905 megawatt (MW) as the total generation was recorded as 12,209 MW against the demand of 18,114 MW during the last 24 hours.
According to the report on daily power generation and load-management position, the hydel generation stood at 4,625 MW, WAPDA thermal 1,475 MW and IPPs 6,109 MW.
As many as 690 MW electricity was supplied to the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC), the report said.
Orient (106 MW) and Halmore (207 MW) power plants are out of system due to shortage of fuel.
Meanwhile two towers of 500 KV Sheikh Muhammadi Grid Station (Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa) have collapsed due to a bomb blast.
