ISLAMABAD: Light rain in various parts of the country including Northern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan will subside the prevailing foggy weather conditions during the next two days.
Dr Ghulam Rasool, Chief Meteorologist, said the westerly weather system will prevail for the next two days and cause scattered and light rain in various parts, a private news channel reported.
He said the prevailing fog has gripped various areas of Punjab and the rain will reduce its intensity during the next two days and after that the dense fog will prevail for the whole week.
He said Rawalpindi and Islamabad will also receive light rain during the next two days which will be a blessing for the farmers of Barani areas to cultivate wheat crop.
The severe cold wave conditions are likely from Friday and snowfall will occur at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during the next 24 hours, he said.
According to the met office, the lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Skardu -10C, Parachinar -9C, Astore -8C, Hunza and Gupis -5C, Kalam -4C, Dir -3C, Chitral, Drosh and Gilgit -2C.
