ISLAMABAD: The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has tightened noose on the culprits involved in looting citizens through fraud messaging, offering cash on the name of the organization.
An official of BISP stated this Wednesday and said many phone numbers, being used in the scam offering money in the name of BISP, were identified with the assistance of Telecom companies, Federal Investigation Agency, Ministries of Interior and Information and Broadcasting.
"These phone numbers were being blocked as traced and complete investigation has been initiated to arrest the crooks," he told APP. First Information Reports (FIRs) would be registered against them and they would be brought to the courts of law, he added.
He said BISP is a project initiated to facilitate the poor segments of the society and those found involved in such a bad practice would be strictly punished according to the law.
