RAWALPINDI: Police have busted auto thief gangs and recovered 16 stolen vehicles from their possession, a police spokesman informed on Sunday.
The action was taken on the directives of City Police Officer Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi to check the increasing trend of car snatching in the city. Cantt police arrested a four-member gang and recovered 6 stolen vehicles from their possession.
In another operation, Pirwadhi police arrested a three-member gang and recovered 4 stolen vehicles from their custody.
Race Course police arrested a man and recovered 2 vehicles from his possession. Rawat police held two persons who were involved in car snatching, police recovered 2 vehicles from their possession.
Westridge police arrested two persons and recovered 2 vehicles from their possession.
Police have registered separate cases against all of them and started investigation.
