HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares were 0.42 percent higher by the break Thursday, with traders shrugging off concerns over the dimming prospects for a deal to avert the US fiscal cliff by the year-end deadline.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 95.68 points to 22,636.86 on turnover of HK$21.56 billion ($2.78 billion).
