PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Prisons, Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel said that the provincial government was working on different projects of producing 500 mega watt electricity from natural gas explored in district Karak.
Addressing different public meetings at villages Chagan Banda, Biland Kalley, Aspina and Tapi Khawa, he said that very soon a plant in this regard will be installed either in Karpa Industrial Estate or near any gas well to meet the prevailing energy deficiency both in the province and country.
He said that a project for the positive usage of the wastage of gas from Nispa Oil Gas Plant is also under consideration, saying negotiations in this regard are in progress with both OGDC and MOL Pakistan, which will soon bear good results to meet the shortage of electricity at least in district Karak.
Mian Nisar Gul said that classes in some departments Khushal University Karak will start from September this year.
The initial classes of the university will beging in the Revenue Academy Building. He said that the building of the university will be constructed from the share of the district in head of royalty on oil and gas, which is Rs.600 million.
