Amir hopes to get his name on Lords honour board again

Mohammad Amir, the leader of Pakistan’s fast bowling artillery, is hoping to etch his name yet again at the historic Lords honour board, as Pakistan plays England this month.

“Our team this time is very young but they are very keen to play at Lords and are very excited. Everyone wants to get their name on the honour board and I am also looking for it the second time,” said Amir, quoted ESPNcricinfo.

Speaking about the lack of swing since making his return back to international after five years, Amir said since his return the game has changed ‘totally’ and he was not even doing any kind of training during those years.

“The one main reason because I am coming back after five years and since then cricket has changed completely as it is much faster and… the wickets are little bit flat now, as well,” he said. “In the five years period, I didn’t do training no bowling, so it is difficult. But I am still trying to swing the ball, because when you are swinging the ball you will get wickets,” he added.

Amir also thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board and fellow cricketers including Shahid Afridi, Misbah ul Haq and current captain Sarfraz Ahmed for their support since his return to international cricket.

Pakistan will be facing England in the first Test match at the historic Lord’s on Thursday May 24.
