SIALKOT: The Regional President of International Apparel Federation (IAF) and Chief Coordinator Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Ijaz A Khokhar Wednesday said that necessary arrangements are being finalized for holding "Digital Global Apparel Sourcing Expo' in the country. Private label and retail brand buyers, large brand buyers and sourcing managers, brand owners and start up labels, designers, product managers and agent buying houses will attend Expo he said. Ijaz disclosed that the top visiting counties were USA, UK, Germany, Australia, France, Denmark, Canada and Netherlands while 15,000 buyers and 20 million pieces order volume would be available in the EXPO.

Talking to Business Recorder here he said that this event will be first of its kind which was being organized by PRGMEA in collaboration with International Apparel Federation (IAF), Fourscore and Sourcing Journal. The worldwide economy had become slowdown due to the COVID-19 as a result of which exporters and importers were reluctant to travel abroad while exporters were avoiding travelling abroad for attending trade exhibitions he pointed out.

Ijaz further stated keeping in view the hardship of the business community due to the COVID-19 the International Apparel Federation had taken the step for holding Digital Global Apparel Sourcing Expo to minimize the problems confronted by the business community. In the wake of COVID-19 impact on the country's export of textile sector, there was a need on the part of the textile sector to evolve and adopt with changing circumstances, he said. Ijaz was of the view that "Digitalization had become the need of the hour and it became more inevitable to use digital tools in businesses. The Global Apparel Sourcing Expo is the worlds largest and hundred percent digital Trade Show and the show will be launched on July 15 and will run for 30 days until August 14 2020 he revealed. This International event is an ideal opportunity for forward thinking manufacturers looking to connect with buyers on global scale he said.

Ijaz said that IAF is launching the First Digital Global by Apparel Sourcing Expo 2020 for readymade garment industry together with Sourcing Journal as media partner and powered by Foursource technology in collaboration with IAF registered members associations (PRGMEA).

It will provide multi-fold marketing on the Foursource platform and through the network of IAF and Sourcing Journal Ijaz said. He further added that Global Apparel Sourcing Expo works on the best technology and offers more than any other show and built an experienced and established B2B matchmaking solution with proven success in contacting buyers and manufacturers.
