The iconic Super Mario is finally coming to iPhone, after Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto the legendry Mario creator himself made a surprise appearance at the Apple conference to announce Super Mario Run.
The iOS based game with the graphics provided by the New Super Mario Bros would become the first Mario game for mobile phones. The game titled the Super Mario Run, however, would be simple as Mario runs continuously, similar to the popular Temple Run.
“It is a big deal,” said Neil Campling, an analyst at Northern Trust Capital Markets, reported Bloomberg. “This venture is perhaps the biggest endorsement we could possibly have imagined that Nintendo’s strategy to monetize their huge franchise IP on mobile and ex-platform reliant technology is the right one.”
Now, the app would be free to download but Nintendo doesn’t confirm its release date, saying it’s “coming soon” to the App Store.
The recent move as per AFP, was cheered by the company’s shareholders, coming after Nintendo's huge success with the Pokemon Go app this summer. Company stocks went up 18 percent in early trade at the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
