KARACHI: Five ships C.V Maersk Detroit, C.V CMA CGM Othello, M.V Yuan Hang, M.V Elly and M.T Nectar Sea carrying containers, sorghum, general cargo and furnace oil were arranged berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile four more ship namely M.V Adventurer-K, M.T ST Jea, M.V SC Xiamen and M.T Okroe scheduled to load/offload cement, chemicals, palm oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 47% on Tuesday where a total of seven Jewel of Dubai, M.T GSW Frontier and M.T Nectar Sea were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, rice, general cargo, sorghum, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours. stood at 114,129 tonnes, comprising 96,734 tonnes imports and 17,395 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,228 containers (TEUs)(1,656 TEUs imports and 582 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships C.V Maersk Detroit, M.T GSW Frontier and M.V Yuan Hang are expected to sail on Wednesday afternoon.
Three ships C.V Maersk Salina, M.V Apollo Bulker and M.T BW Boron scheduled to load/offload containers, cement and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, m.W-4, and LCT respectively on Wednesday, while M.V Poavosa Wisdom-III with steel coil is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and two more container ships 'MSC Rachele' and 'Mehuin' are due to arrive on Thursday.
