imageThe French defender Bacary Sagna insists that he has no regrets about leaving the Emirates for the Etihad. Sagna joined the champions at the start of this season having ended a seven-year association with ‘the Gunners’ in fitting style by winning last season’s FA Cup.

According to foreign media reports, Sagna said, “I see a lot of comments from fans saying I should have stayed at Arsenal but if I had to do it again, if I had to come back and sign for City, I would have done it again. I’m happy because I came to the champions”.

City is currently two points behind Arsenal, who have been placed in the second-place on the ranking card.

“I don’t have any regrets [leaving Arsenal], I needed something new. Many people said I left for money but not at all. There’s a real project at Man City and I want to be a part of it. I’m giving the maximum to get to play and to improve,” Sky Sports reported.

Sagna made 276 appearances in his seven years at Emirates Stadium, averaging almost 30 league starts per season, but has been unable to displace Pablo Zabaleta as City’s first-choice right-back. He moved to City on a ‘free transfer’.
