ISLAMABAD: Defence analyst Lt. Gen Talat Masood (Retd) has said that Pakistan is a very important country for US because of its nuclear capability and geo-strategic position.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, Talat Masood said that relations between Pakistan and the United States are very important for both the countries and the region as well.
He added that the US State Department's recent statement reflects that US gives much importance to its relations with Pakistan.
He further said that release of funds for Pakistan clearly reflect that US wants better relations with Pakistan.
He went on to say that positive statements by the high officials of both the countries would have a positive impact.
He said that there are many expectations attached with the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to United States.
He stated US released 1.6 billion dollar military aid and restored 300 million dollar in Coalition Support Fund to Pakistan which was a good sign.
