govindaMUMBAI: A Magistrate's court at Borivali in Mumbai framed charges of assault and criminal intimidation against Bollywood actor Govinda.

The complaint has been filed by Santosh Rai who was watching the shooting for Govinda's film "Money Hai to Honey Hai" at Filmistan Studio in Goregaon on January 18, 2008. If convicted, the actor might have to serve four years in prison.

The lower court in Borivali charged him under several provisions of the Indian Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt (Sec 323) and criminal intimidation (Sec 506).

In 2012, Govinda was granted bail by the lower court. In his defence, the actor had then claimed that he had slapped Rai for misbehaving with women during the shoot and for kicking a chair the actor was sitting on.

But what could land the actor in trouble is that while he has pleaded not to be guilty before the court, there are videos showing Govinda slapping Rai.
