LONDON: Bank of England policymakers kept its key interest rate at a record low 0.50 percent on Thursday and also opted against altering its stimulus plans despite the fragile state of the economy.

"The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee today voted to maintain the official bank rate paid on commercial bank reserves at 0.5 percent," the BoE said in a statement.
