According to QS World University Rankings 2016, an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), the top five high learning institutes for computer studies are as under:
Number 5: Carnegie Mellon University
As per Tech Insider, this private research university, situated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA does not enjoy the same international reputation as Harvard and Stanford. However, its computer science and information systems courses are highly regarded, scoring 91.4 on the QS rankings.
Number 4: Harvard University
Here comes the world’s best university, which as per QS rankings do not have the best computer science and information systems course in the world. Ranked at fourth place, the Ivy League powerhouse is still a heavyweight with a score of 92.4.
Number 3: University of Oxford
Regarded as arguably the most famous institute of higher learning, founded way back in 11th century, the university remains a leader in technology, as it received a score of 92.5 from QS.
Number 2: Stanford University
The private research university from Californian has enjoyed a reputation for producing brains behind some of world's biggest technology companies, including Google, Cisco, WhatsApp, and Netflix. QS scoring 93.2.
Number 1: Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
MIT has become a synonym for best and it comes as no surprise one of world's most prestigious universities boosts world's top computer science and information systems course. Founded in 1861, the university scored 93.8 on the QS ranking system.
