Samsung, the Korean technology giant has announced the release of the ‘Gear IconX,’ the first truly wireless earbuds, produced by a major tech firm.
According to The Verge, a number of wireless earbuds have made their way this year. However, this time it is different as it comes from a top manufacturer.
Samsung is throwing its hat into the ring with the announcement of the Gear IconX. This seems to have similar features and design of other models, seen already.
Coming to the features, being truly wireless comes at a price, i.e. low battery life. Samsung says that the headphones will last about an hour and a half when streaming music from your phone, and that would increase to over three and a half hours when playing music stored on their internal memory.
However, the earbuds can play music with or without a phone. They have 4 GB of internal storage and can stream Spotify, Google Music and Pandora (P) through a Bluetooth-connected smartphone. There’s also this sound feature that allows outside noise blend in with the audio, sounds cool.
As per Highsnobiety, Another plus point is that Samsung looks to stress its buds for the fitness fanatics. They have hooks that lock it in the cartilage on your ear as you’re running, and sensors to monitor movement, heart rate, distance traveled and calories burned.
The Gear IconX will be available later this year in white, blue, and black color options.
