MULTAN: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers and different departments organised ceremonies to mark Youm-e-Takbeer with renewed pledge that no compromise would be made on country's defence and integrity.

Pakistan conducted nuclear tests on this day in 1998 in response to Indian nuclear explosions, making defence of the motherland impregnable. Special prayers were offered in the morning for progress and prosperity of the country and eradication of terrorism.

Different events were held at the government as well as private institutions to highlight importance of the day. The Multan Institute of Nuclear Medicines and Radiotherapy arranged a function and commemorated 19th anniversary of nuclear tests. The ceremony was chaired by Director MINAR Dr Darr-e-Sabeeh and participated by officials, patients and their heirs.

PML-N former MNA Sheikh Tariq Rasheed also cut a cake at a ceremony held at his residence. While addressing workers, the he hailed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for conducting nuclear tests and making Pakistan an atomic power.

Once again, the country was making rapid progress in tenure of PML-N, he added.

Tariq Rasheed said that the incumbent government took solid steps and eradicated menace of terrorism from the country.

PML-N Labour Wing also arranged a function at the residence of President PML-N Labour Wing (Multan) Farhan Ansari. A good number of PML-N workers joined the ceremony.

Similarly, Mayor Multan Naveed-ul-Haq also chaired a ceremony related with Youm-e-Takbeer. The participants eulogised government's steps for making country's defence impregnable.

The workers also vowed to offer sacrifices for cause of the country. They also lauded government's achievements against terrorists.
