ISLAMABAD: National Assembly’ session turned into chaos on Friday, as Leader of the Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah demanded resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif .

Commenting on Supreme Court’s Panama verdict, the opposition leader said Joint Investigation Team (JIT) is nothing more than a ‘drama,’ said Shah.

On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Sheikh Aftab said the prime minister is the elected representative of the people of Pakistan and would not step down from his position.

While low attendance was witnessed on the treasury benches, those present on the opposition benches stood up from their seats in protest. The leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) protested by pounding their desks.

On this occasion, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq, and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed were also present.

Since no one from the opposition or treasury benches were maintaining decorum, the speaker adjourned the session for an undefined period.

Taking to media outside the NA, PPP leader said, "We have always been in favour of positive politics. We have been mocked by being called a friendly opposition, but we have always been with democracy," added opposition leader.

On the other hand Sheikh Rasheed said all the parties in the opposition have come together on a single platform.

"The exams have been failed still sweetmeat is being distributed," he said.
