Justice Iqbal Hameed takes oath as SC judge

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry Monday took oath from Justice Iqbal Hameed-ur-Rehman, the newly appointed judge of the apex court.

Senior judges and the lawyers of the Supreme Court were also present on this occasion.

Before this, Justice Iqbal Hameed- ur-Rehman was serving as the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC).

He was appointed as the judge of the apex court after the approval by the president of Pakistan and the notification by the Ministry of Law and Justice had also issued notice in this regard.

Meanwhile, Justice Anwar Kasi was appointed as the Chief Justice of IHC.

President Asif Ali Zardari administered oath from the newly appointed IHC Chief Justice.
