KARACHI: Pakistan Day falling on 23rd March, 2012, will be celebrated throughout the country in a befitting manner. There will be a public holiday on the occasion. Besides holding a variety of events to mark the occasion, the national flag will also be hoisted on all principal, public and private buildings.
According to the details of the program, firing of 21 guns solute will be boomed early in the morning on Pakistan Day, in all provincial capitals and prayers will be offered in all places of worship while sweets will be distributed at orphanages and Darul Amans and prisoners will be served with special meals.
To celebrate the historic Pakistan Resolution, the print and electronic media will highlight the Pakistan Movement through special editions, broadcast and telecasts, while special exhibitions of photographs, documentaries, etc., relating to the Pakistan Movement will also be arranged.
Qirat contests, debates essay competitions, exhibition of relevant documentary films for school children as well as general public and bolding of mushairas will be among the features of Pakistan Day celebrations.
All the concerned and authorized quarters have been directed to ensure that people belonging to all walks of life get an opportunity to wholeheartedly participate in the celebrations.
