1118LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa said on Sunday the government would introduce interim set-up after evolving a consensus among all political parties and the stake-holders.

Talking to a 96-member delegation from National Defence University headed by Syed Razi Nawab at Governor's House, he said that handing over power to the elected representatives through free, fair and transparent elections is the top priority of the PPP-led government.

The Punjab governor said that difference of opinion is the beauty of democracy, adding that the government had settled all disagreeable issues through consensus during the past four and half years.

To a question, the Governor said the PPP-led government would create new provinces in the light of the recommendations by the Parliamentary Commission.

Another query, Khosa said the government believes in the smooth continuity of democratic system, adding that PPP believes all contentious issues could be resolved through collective wisdom.

Stressing the importance of national cohesion, Sardar Latif Khosa said that every type of education must be imparted to enhance national solidarity.

He said the government should bring together people from diverse backgrounds, experiences and outlooks and enable them to the issues from a national stand-point.

Khosa eulogized services of the Armed Forces, adding that it is an open secret that Pakistani Armed Forces are the best forces in the world.
