imageOn Monday after injuries to Babar Azam and Ruman Raees, Pakistan included opening batsman Sharjeel Khan and fast bowler Mohammad Sami in their Asia Cup and World Twenty20 squads.

According to IBN LIVE, Sharjeel Khan replaced Babar Azam, who broke his left forearm during practice in the PSL, and was out for three to four weeks, the Pakistan Cricket Board said in a statement.

However, Mohammad Sami replaced Rumman Raees in Pakistan’s team for the Asia Cup and ICC World Twenty20 2016. The PCB said Babar and Raees were unavailable for both events. Both the youngsters are yet to play in a T20 international for Pakistan.

The Pakistan selectors also elected to bring in Khalid Latif instead of Iftikhar Ahmed for the world event. According to India Today, Chief selector Haroon Rasheed said Pakistan had an option to make changes in its World T20 squad before March 8, and after watching Latif's performance in the PSL it was decided to leave out Ahmed.

The Asia Cup starts in Bangladesh this week, and the World T20 in India next month.
