KARACHI: Five people, including two students, were killed in different mishaps in the metropolis on Thursday.
Two young students, Ghazia, 13, and her brother, Ahsan, 15, were killed when a speeding dumper-truck hit them in Ahsanabad, Gulshan-e-Maymar while going to attend their examination. The driver fled soon after the accident. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
A woman, Zaibunnisa, 26, wife of Sikandar, committed suicide by consuming a poisonous substance in Gulistan-e-Johar, Block 13. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for an autopsy.
Qazi Jalil, 65, son of Zubair Alam was found dead at the government quarters near Passport office. Later his cause of death was determined by taking poisonous substance. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.
Yet in another incident, a woman, Zulekha, 45, wife of Muhammad Ali, was dead at her home by consuming a poisonous substance in Safora Goth. The body was shifted to JPMC for an autopsy.
