KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where two ships carrying furnace oil and edible oil were allotted berths at FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal on Tuesday, port authority's statement here Wednesday said.
Meanwhile two more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was 55 percent on Tuesday. A total number of six ships namely Maersk Kingston, Leo Pard-B, Bow Fraternity, BBC Quebec, MT Quetta and MV Strilen are currently occupancy berths to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 80,536 tonnes, comprising 65,304 tonnes imports and 15,232 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,904 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
