KARACHI: The latest YouTube superstar Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ placed second on the US and Canada’s iTunes music video chart, just behind Justin Bieber.
According to the ranking, Bieber tops the chart with his song ‘As Long as you Love me’ while Psy is at second and Katy Perry at third place with her number ‘Wide Awake’.
Psy is the only Korean artist among the top pop artists in the higher ranks.
Korean record label YG Entertainment said, “Seeing that Psy’s song has entered the overseas charts for iTunes shows just how much popularity the song is gaining.”
“iTunes music videos cannot be streamed, but must be bought as a download, and so that means Psy’s Gangnam Style is being continually bought, allowing him to be at second,” the company added.
The music video of ‘Gangnam Style’ has crossed 30 million hits on YouTube so far and is on number five on US dance single chart on iTunes.
