A delegation led by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan called on Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam on Sunday and discussed matters regarding mutual interest, particularly extending cooperation between the two provinces in different sectors as well as measures taken for promoting inter-provincial harmony came under discussion.

During the meeting, both the chief ministers pledged to counter all the hurdles blocking the path of public service. They expressed that those who are "hatching conspiracies" failed in the past and will face the same in future as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Usman Buzdar said that those elements who are criticising are actually afraid of the progress of Pakistan and prosperity of its people. "Both the provinces will move ahead jointly in the journey of progress and prosperity of new Pakistan. The Punjab government will extend its all-out cooperation in the development of Balochistan and its people," he added.

According to Buzdar, the development of Pakistan was linked to the development of Balochistan. He said that special quota has been fixed for the Baloch students in the education institutions of Punjab besides providing stipends to them for higher education.

He informed the delegation that the Punjab government will construct a cardiac hospital in Quetta at a cost of Rs2 billion, which will be a gift from the Punjab government for the Baloch people. "Punjab will do whatever it can for serving the Balochi brethren and will not step down. Communication links between Punjab and Balochistan will be improved further." "In the past, Balochistan was a neglected province, but now the PTI government is determined for its progress and prosperity. We are working jointly for the development of new Pakistan and will keep doing so in future as well," added Buzdar. He informed the delegation that construction work of dams for storing water in tribal areas of Rajanpur and Dera Ghazi Khan has been started.
