  • Jennifer Lopez and Shakira are both celebrated artists on both the pop and Latin charts, with dozens of hit songs and albums between them.
  • The pair will be headlining the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show to be held in Miami, Florida in 2020.
  • Both the celebs took to social networking sites on Thursday afternoon to tease the collaboration, each sharing a photo of the other.

Pop stars Shakira and Jennifer Lopez have been confirmed to perform at the 2020 Super Bowl half-time show. This will be the first time the pair will perform together on-stage.

The news was officially confirmed by Pepsi, the NFL and entertainment company Roc Nation in a joint announcement on Thursday and shared across the singers’ social media accounts too.

“Going to set the world on,” Lopez wrote. While Shakira said it can’t be bigger than this.

JLo in a recent interview said that she loves that the upcoming Super Bowl has two Latino women performing, which is a marker of a new time for NFL and the country. The ‘Hustlers’ star believes that it sends an important message while making a statement of love, unity and getting everybody to come together for a moment which hopefully, resonates for a long time.

“She's such a dynamic performer. She does her own thing, there's nobody like her, so I know that the two of us together are going to bring that special brand of what we do,” JLo said.

About Lopez, Shakira gushed, “She's a champion in everything she does. It's going to be fantastic to be sharing that moment with someone like you”.
