Pakistan’s former batting coach Grant Flower stated that he won’t miss the ‘backstabbing’ and ‘politics’ that is part of Pakistan cricket, however, he would certainly miss the ‘friendliness’ of Pakistanis.

“Some of the backstabbing by ex-players. And a lot of the politics that happens within the TV channels, the journalists and some of the politics in the PCB itself. I won't miss those, certainly,” said Flower, quoted ESPNcricinfo.

Flower, was among the coaching staff alongside head coach Mickey Arthur and bowling coach Azhar Mahmood that were sacked by the PCB, after Pakistan failed to make into the semifinals of the ICC World Cup 2019.

Flower, applauded the Pakistani cricketers for their passion and love of the game. “It was such a nice thing to see because they've got so much to gain by playing for Pakistan and so much to lose by not playing. It's such a big thing for them and their families.”

Talking about Pakistan’s batting superstar Babar Azam, the former batting coach called Azam the ‘best bloke’ he ever coached. “He's (Babar) probably the best bloke I've ever coached - certainly the best Pakistani I've ever coached.”

Meanwhile, he also pointed towards middle order Haris Sohail, calling the player an 'underachiever' Flower said that the cricketing world has not seen the best of him yet .
