Pakistan’s outgoing bowling coach Azhar Mahamood bid farewell to Pakistan cricket team, thanking the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for giving him the opportunity to become the part of the cricketing management.

“It’s been a tremendous journey with the PCB. I thank them and wish them all the very best for the future of Pakistan cricket,” said Mahmood, in a tweet.

“After having served my tenure of over 2.5 years to Pakistan team and giving it our utmost best I look forward to moving on,” he said.

Mahmood alongside head coach Mickey Arthur, batting coach Grant Flower and the rest of the coaching staff were axed by the cricketing board on Wednesday, following Pakistan cricket team failure to reach the semifinals of the ICC World Cup 2019.

“PCB will be immediately undertaking a robust recruitment process after it decided not to renew the contracts of head coach Arthur, bowling coach Azhar Mahmood, batting coach Grant Flower and trainer Grant Luden,” the board said in a statement.
