‘Avengers: Endgame’ has beaten ‘Titanic’ to become the second highest grossing film of all time, with a whopping $2.189 billion worldwide. The movie is now inching close to ‘Avatar’ which still holds the top spot.

The 22nd MCU movie is now the fastest ever to the milestone — in just 11 days. ‘Avatar’, the previous record holder, did it in 47. With the latest estimates, there is now about $459M separating Endgame from Avatar overseas and roughly $600M worldwide, Deadline reported.

The epic finale to the current phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe got off to a record-breaking start last weekend when it debuted with a stunning $1.2 billion worldwide, including $357 million in North America.

One area where Endgame has already overtaken Avatar is in international IMAX. The offshore gross in the format is now $120.8M, to top the sci-fi movie and become IMAX’s biggest overseas release ever.

The superhero blockbuster stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Chris Hemsworth as Thor and Paul Rudd as Ant-Man, among many others.
