BCCI issue notice to Pandya, Rahul over controversial remarks on talk show
The Indian cricket board has issued a showcause notice to Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul on Wednesday after their controversial remarks on a television talkshow angered fans on social media.
"We have sent showcause notices to Hardik Pandya and K L Rahul for their comments. They have been given 24 hours to give an explanation," said chairman of the Committee of Administrators, Vinod Rai, quoted PTI. The cricketing duo was criticized for their sexist and racist remarks on a popular Indian talkshow ‘Kofee with Karan.’
Soon after the show was on-aired and fans criticised them, particularly Pandya, he apologized for his remarks. “After reflecting on my comments on 'Koffee with Karan', I would like to apologise to everyone concerned who I may have hurt in any way. Honestly, I got a bit carried away with the nature of the show. In no way did I mean to disrespect or hurt anyone's sentiments. Respect," the all rounder wrote on his Twitter page.
