Shan Masood credits domestic cricket for improving his game

Pakistan tour of South Africa has so far remained a sad state of affairs for the visitors, with the vulnerable batting line unable to score big against the Proteas.

Top order batsman Shan Masood has so far looked as Pakistan’s best batsman on the tour, with a half century in the first Test and a score of 44 in the second Test, in the otherwise dismal batting performance  by Pakistan.

The 29-year-old has credited his stint at the domestic cricket for his improvement with the bat. "The biggest thing for me has been that I've played a lot of cricket (while being out of the team). I know we undermine domestic cricket a lot but I've gone back to domestic cricket and played a lot of games,” said Masood, while talking to the media.

“What also helps is that after a very long time, we had a few good A tours. We played NZ, England, the Australian team,” he added.

Masood was of the view that the only way of improving oneself is to play more and more cricket, however, the batsman believes there is massive need of improvement as he eyes to score big.

“As a cricketer, you just want to play more and more games and that's the only way you will get better. As much work you do outside the field, it doesn't matter until you go inside and perform. That's what will give you the experience to take on international cricket," said Masood.
