kulbhushan-Jadhav-1024Actor Rishi Kapoor and singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya have raised their voices against Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav's death sentance in Pakistan.

The singer, who is popularly known for generating arguments and controversies with his comments, tweeted, “He went on to request that Jadhav to be saved from a death sentence.”

The actor also took the issue to Twitter and commented, “Sorry, India tried to broker peace via actors, films, sports etc with Pakistan but they just want hatred, so be it! Taali do haath se bajti hai.”

According to Pakistan Army statement that was released on Monday, Jadhav was arrested back in March 2016 from Balochistan. Being charged with espionage and waging war against Pakistan, the military court awarded him a death penalty.

However, the Indian government named it as ‘premeditated murder’, reports foreign media. India, on the other hand, believed that Jadhav who is a former Indian navy official was abducted from Iran.

Another actor, Randeep Hooda also condemned the issue marking it as a reminiscent of Sarabjit’s Singh’s plight. “No trial, no evidence, only a closed military court proceeding??? It reeks of lies... Pakistan is making another Sarbjit.”

Hooda also tweeted and tagged the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, “My heart goes out to him... The unimaginable torture to confess and total human rights violation that happen in Pakistan. I have immense faith in the strong leadership of our country... May be we should break him out.”

Pakistan has sentenced an Indian RAW agent Kulbhushan Jadhav to death for carrying out espionage and sabotage activities in Balochistan and Karachi, the ISPR said Monday.

Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has confirmed death sentence awarded by the Field General Court Martial (FGCM) under the Pakistan Army Act (PAA).
