The Urs of Potohar's most famous saint, Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif (Popularly known as Bari Imam), concluded at Nurpur Shahan here on Thursday night.
The shrine of the 17th century saint remained the hub of sounds, sight smells and colourful cultural activities for five days.
Thousands of devotees from all over the country participated in the 'Urs' to pay homage to the great Sufi saint at the historical mirror-studded shrine located at Nurpur Shahan, a village situated at the foot of Margalla Hills near Quaid-e-Azam university.
The devotees kept coming in the groups, carrying replica of the shrine, singing devotional songs and dancing to the beat of drums. Dallies, comprising group of devotees, converged on the saint's Mazar from all over the country.
Some of them came walking as a mark of respect to the saint, who always travelled on foot.
Many devotees offered Fateha, made their wishes for fulfilment in the traditional style of binding a knot with colourful piece of garment, mostly green or black.
On the concluding ceremony, chairman senate Mohammedmian Soomro underlined the message of peace and love always promoted by saints who contributed in spreading Islam in this part of world.
Soomro was accompanied by speaker National Assembly Chaudhry Ameer Hussain, Federal Minister for Privatisation Hafeez Sheikh and In-charge Minister for Science and Technology Professor Dr Atta-ur-Rehman paid homage to the saint and urged people to emulate saints and Sufis.
