MILAN: The premium investors demand to hold Italian 10-year government bonds over equivalent German Bunds topped 144 basis points on Tuesday, the highest since late February, due to worries that Britain may vote to leave the European Union later this month.
The 10-year bond yield gap between Italy and Germany stood at 144.6 basis points by 0848 GMT compared to 135.6 at close on Monday.
